Boxing World Championship 2021 News

After AIBA postponed women's World Championship in Istanbul till March 2022, BFI will hold trials to pick the team, as per a report in PTI. While the tournament was originally slated to be held from December 4, the world body decided to postpone it keeping in mind the increasing Covid-19 cases. 

The AIBA World Championship will see a host of interesting changes, starting this month, in Turkey. The winners will be awarded with title belts, in addition to medals and hefty prize money, which according to president Umar Kremlev, will motivate the boxers to perform even better.

The AIBA has announced that the spectators will be back in the arena to cheer for their favourite boxers, in the upcoming World Championship, starting in October. For the first time ever, the championship also involves huge prize money, with the winners taking home a whopping USD 100000.
